Dream Review
Dream Review is Kanade’s overnight pass over recent work. It looks for small memory-sharpening suggestions, stages them as cards, and lets the operator apply, skip, or dismiss each one.
Scheduler
Section titled “Scheduler”The daemon seeds Dream Review settings from environment variables the first time the local database is created:
KANADE_DREAM_CRON, default0 3 * * *.KANADE_DREAM_QUIET_MINUTES, default60.
The cron shape is daily minute/hour syntax. If the value is invalid, Kanade falls back to 03:00 local daemon time. Settings -> Dream Review shows the saved cron, quiet-window length, enabled state, and the next scheduled run.
Quiet window
Section titled “Quiet window”Kanade tracks the most recent chat input time. If a scheduled Dream Review would fire while the operator is active, the scheduler defers until the quiet window has passed. The default window is 60 minutes.
Manual runs bypass the quiet window. Use this when you want to test the review or stage cards before the overnight schedule.
Reviewing cards
Section titled “Reviewing cards”Dream cards appear on Home and in the Dream Review surface. Each card includes the proposed change, the target path when one exists, a rationale, and a score.
Choose:
- Apply when the card is useful.
- Skip when it is not useful for this pass.
- Dismiss when the suggestion should leave the queue.
Kanade records the decision locally. Nothing is sent to an external service by the scheduler itself.
When no cards appear
Section titled “When no cards appear”No cards can mean the feature is disabled, no review has run yet, there was not enough recent activity, or the local data does not contain a safe candidate. The workstation still runs normally without Dream Review cards.
